Hypertension
Hypertension, commonly known as High Blood Pressure is the resultant of the increase in the adrenaline in the blood stream which causes a steep rise in the pressure of the blood. Blood pressure is the force with which heart pumps the blood into the arteries. There is a certain level of blood pressure which is maintained by the body. An increase in this pressure is known as high blood pressure. Hypertension can lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure and other health problems. High blood pressure can be classified into two types – essential or primary hypertension, of which no specific medical cause is explained, and secondary hypertension, which is the result of another medical problem (such as kidney disease or tumors).
Hypertensive people can remarkably reduce their blood pressure through nutritional changes. Increasing the amount of vegetables and fruit intake, as well as reducing the amount of fat and cholesterol reduces blood pressure, beside helping with weight loss, which also lowers blood pressure. Hypertension is treated in Naturopathy with drastic changes in dietary habits, along with a host of therapies including Cold Spinal Bath, Cold Hip Bath, Enema, Mud Bath. Moreover guided Meditation and various asanas of yoga play a key role in treating hypertension permanently.
